Buttered Cabbage

Ingredients:

  • half a head of red and/or white cabbage
  • grass-fed butter and/or organic virgin coconut oil
  • fresh ground salt crystals (sea, rock, mineral)
  • fresh ground black peppercorns
  • diced garlic (optional)
  • optionally: 1 lb ground grass-fed red meat (beef, yak, elk, bison, etc.)

Serving suggestion: You can serve with baked chicken and/or ground red meat on the side.

Directions:
  • Wash the cabbage(s) and chop them in half.
  • Dice up the cabbage into sort of rectangular pieces, or wedges. you might have to cook it in rounds,
  • because cabbage can be too much for a skillet.
  • I'd not use the iron skillet, because you need something bigger. You can use the big skillet or the stock pot.
  • Add 2-3 tablespoons oil to the skillet or pot, add the cabbage with salt and pepper, and just cook covered for a while on medium heat.
  • Mix frequently. If you're adding ground meat, and if the meat is frozen you can add it in the beginning with the cabbage. You can also cook the ground meat in a skillet in coconut oil on the side and later add it to the cabbage or serve on the side.
  • This simple recipe tastes surprisingly good.

Bon appetit! Praise be to the Generous Bountiful Provider who offers us these nutritious and tasty foods from dumb plants, tasteless earth and ignorant water. Alhamdulillah (all praises belong to the One God)
